Year 11 Reflections 😍

This morning, as I sat marking GCSE exam papers, I found myself pausing for a moment of reflection — thinking about the wonderful Year 11 students I’ve had the privilege of tutoring this year. Some joined me back in September, others only a few weeks before the exams in April, but each one brought their own personality, story, hopes and dreams into our sessions.

I’ve loved getting to know them. Sometimes we spent the hour wrestling with English Language skills; other times, the most important thing I could offer was a confidence boost, a listening ear, or a reminder that they can do this. Those sessions mattered just as much. Now that my evenings no longer have those familiar Year 11 slots, the gaps feel strange — and yes, I miss them.

More than anything, I hope they achieve the results they’re aiming for in English Language. But I also hope they know that their worth stretches far beyond a grade on a page. They are thoughtful, funny, determined, resilient young people with so much to offer the world — qualities no exam can measure.

Go well, my lovely Year 11s. I’m cheering you on, not just for results day, but for everything that comes next 😍🚀🎉⛪💪🏻👏🏻
